This handmade Uchiwa is a traditional Japanese fan, used to create a gentle breeze and keep cool during warm weather. Uchiwa fans are part of Japan’s seasonal traditions and are often given as gifts.

Originally made from large leaves and animal hair, Uchiwa fans have evolved over time and are now traditionally crafted from bamboo and Japanese paper. Besides their practical use, they are also cherished for their decorative designs and cultural significance.
